David Causey, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist,
offers over 15 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and director in
clinical psychology.
His clinical
expertise focuses on the assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders,
social developmental delays, obsessive-compulsive conditions, Tourette syndrome,
depression, anxiety, behavior disorders, and learning differences. His treatment
approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy, parenting support and training,
family therapy, school consultation, and group therapy.
Dr. Causey completed his Clinical Psychology Internship at Duke University Medical Center and earned his doctorate degree from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 1993. He then became a faculty member at the University of Louisville School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, conducting his clinical services as a clinician with Bingham Child Guidance Center. For 10 years, Dr. Causey was the Director of a nationally-accredited Clinical Child and Pediatric Psychology Internship Training Program. During that time, he also served as Director of the Keller Day Treatment Program, an intensive psychiatric treatment program and school setting for children and adolescents. Dr. Causey is an active member of the Kentucky Psychological Association (KPA), leading and participating in innovative seminars in annual KPA conventions.
As chief staff psychologist at Square One
since its inception in January 2006,
Dr. Causey performs psychological and psychoeducational examinations,
provides emotional and behavioral evaluations, conducts individual and family therapy services,
and leads social skills groups.
