Judith A. Axelrod, M.D., Behavioral-Developmental Pediatrician,
performs comprehensive medical
histories and neurodevelopmental physical examinations. With over 25 years of
experience, her clinical concentrations include Autism Spectrum Disorders,
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety,
developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, social communication
disorders, intellectual deficits, and mental retardation and associated
conditions.
Dr. Axelrod earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1983. She completed her residency program in Pediatrics at Kosair Children’s Hospital in 1986 and subsequently was in private practice for two years. She then continued her training with a Fellowship in Behavioral Developmental Pediatrics at the Weisskopf Child Evaluation Center which she completed in 1991. Dr. Axelrod was a faculty member at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and on the clinical staff at the Weisskopf Child Evaluation Center from 1991 to 2009; she is a former clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Louisville. Dr. Axelrod is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has membership with the Greater Louisville Medical Society, Society for Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Tourette's Society of America, and Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Discorder (CHADD), and has served on the board of the Learning Disabilities Association of Kentucky.
Since founding this practice in January
2006, Dr. Axelrod performs comprehensive medical histories
and neurodevelopmental physical examinations and provides medication management.
